SENIOR FINANCE MANAGER

About the Role

The Senior Finance Manager will lead EveryoneOn’s financial planning and oversight, including; budget planning and management, financial analysis and reporting, audit preparation and implementation, and tax preparation. We are seeking a highly strategic, driven and analytical finance professional to join our growing team. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer and work very closely with the Director of Operations and Bookkeeper, and in collaboration with the VP of Programs and Strategy and Programs team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly collaborative and results-oriented individual to build a finance department for EveryoneOn, ensure the financial health of the organization, and support our work to foster digital equity nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

Finance, Accounting and Budgeting

  • Participate in the development of operating and program budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures
  • Develop and communicate systems and procedures for approving, monitoring, and reporting expenditures
  • Work with the Bookkeeper to track and report income and expenses; conduct month-end and year-end accounting processes (reconciliations, statement filing, etc.); and create monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports of operating and program budgets 
  • Work closely with the CEO and VP of Programs and Strategy to prepare proposal budgets before submission, determine the level of financial support and resource capacity needed for implementation, and ensure appropriate costs are included. Prepare budget narratives and supporting notes to accompany proposals
  • Perform financial forecasting and provide recommendations to support the budget management process, and present to the executive team and board of directors
  • In conjunction with the Bookkeeper, support the payroll process in Paychex and 401k validation in Fiduciary
  • Represent EveryoneOn as a point of contact with EO’s payroll and 401k plan vendors
    Provide a comprehensive review and analysis of the 401k plan in accordance with IRS qualification requirements, regular audits, plan testing, and other processes
  • In conjunction with the Director of Operations review, calculate and track administrative and health related benefits cost breakdowns for budget forecasting
  • Maintain the accounting system and drive improvements and changes, as needed

Audit, Tax Management and Compliance

  • Ensure that EveryoneOn complies with all financial reporting requirements as directed by the grant agreements and contracts. Prepare budget reports, as needed 
  • In coordination with the CEO and Director of Operations, vet the recruitment and management of external audit firms. Liaise with and represent the audit findings to external parties, including regulators and external auditors
  • In accordance with local and national laws, prepare relevant documents and timelines to conduct and facilitate regular organizational internal and external audits to identify potential weaknesses and noncompliance situations, and evaluate, disclose and appropriately remedy risks and deficiencies
  • Oversee tax preparation with EveryoneOn’s accounting partner to accurately and efficiently file Form 990 and other taxes requirements on a timely basis

Strategy

  • Develop EveryoneOn’s financial model and build scenarios that help us make strategic decisions and understand where the organization is headed 

Qualifications & Skills

  • A passion for fostering digital equity in underserved communities with mission driven organizations, and experience working with diverse populations, in particular low-income communities of color
    Advanced degree or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum five years of finance, accounting, budgeting, and analytics experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting concepts, financial planning and reporting
  • Experience using and overseeing accounts in Quickbooks
  • Proven track record working in a cross-functional environment, involving coordination across a number of teams, while providing leadership and financial guidance across multiple functions
  • Experience monitoring financial activities related to federal and state grant programs (preferred) 
    Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and Federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation and communication skills 
  • High attention to detail with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources 

Compensation and Application Process

The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $85,000, and will depend on experience and background.
