Surplus Sales Manager
Location: St. Paul, MN
About The Role
The Surplus Sales Manager will have primary responsibility for developing and implementing surplus sales strategy for the markets they manage. This will include sales coordination, distribution, and market intelligence. From being constantly aware of market trends, developing and researching competitive pricing strategy, listing items and helping improve mature listings to expanding sales opportunities online, the ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset who acts promptly when business demand/supply opportunities are presented.
Key Role Responsibilities
Identify growth opportunities and execute on initiatives within the surplus marketplace to achieve sales targets
Research and develop pricing strategy for listed items
Build documentation and process to streamline the surplus strategies across all markets
Provide continuous support and training to all staff around the surplus sales department and process
Evaluate potential surplus sales partnerships and ensure financially prudent results
Review, price and publish listings
Manage all e-commerce platforms including but not limited to customer service functions, discount sales, inventory systems and reporting revenue to accounting departments
Research new avenues for surplus sales
Support the development and implementation of standard work
Supervise Surplus Sales Lead and Surplus Sales Associate and manage their time cards and
Train lead staff
Complete sales KPI
Foster relationships with buyers outside of our existing accounts
Other tasks as assigned
Desired Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in technology, sales or Communications, a plus
3+ years of e-commerce experience preferred
Basic understanding of consumer and/or enterprise-level IT hardware
Excellent computer/internet experience in working in Windows PC environment a must
Great verbal and written communication skills
Strong self-driven, project management, time management, and organization skills
Strong demonstration of team skills with a high level of initiative and the ability to work in an environment of rapidly changing priorities
Demonstrated experience identifying growth opportunities and execution on initiatives within the surplus marketplace to achieve sales targets
Must be a self-starter with strong motivation and desire for continuous learning and improvement
Ability to work in a general warehouse environment
