We want to hear from you!
Digital Inclusion Week (DIW) is October 7-11, 2019, and with your help we can move closer to our common goal: that all people have access to the Internet and the tools they need to use it. The week, sponsored by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance, is an opportunity to raise awareness about digital inequities and nationwide efforts to close those gaps from California to the Carolinas. Digital Inclusion Week seeks to bring people who dedicate their lives to Digital Inclusion together to highlight the impact of their work and to come together to find solutions to close digital divides.
Throughout the week, organizations across the nation and around the world will host digital inclusion events (i.e. free technology trainings, device donation drives, etc.) and share digital stories that highlight specific inequities and the role digital inclusion providers play in meeting these needs. Here are three ways to participate in the week:
1. Register as a Digital Inclusion Week Host to be included on a list of hosts on the NDIA website.
2. The NDIA wants to know what #Digitalequityis_______ means for you and your community. We are asking our affiliates and friends to create a photo of you or you and your colleagues/community members filling in the blank for #digitalequityis______. To participate, please print off this placard, write what digital equity means to you, and upload the photo. Photos submitted by September 13th, 2019 may be included in a collage on the NDIA website and shared on social media throughout DIW. Please use this placard to create photos for your social media posts during the week.
3. During the week, you can join the conversation on social media by using the hashtags #Digitalinclusion and #Digitalequityis_______ on your DIW social media posts. You can find more information and resources here.
We look forward to another great DIW, and thank you for your participation and support.
