Last fall, we introduced the Digital Inclusion Impact Aggregator (Aggregator) to address the need for specialized evaluation tools for digital inclusion ecosystems. The Aggregator can be easily adapted to your specific digital includes goals, and can be scaled at any level while offering standardized measures to track digital inclusion efforts and outcomes.
The tool is built around three core components:
- Evaluation Framework: A series of nested logic models that offer a modular blueprint for organizing evaluation strategies.
- Impact Evaluation Database: An Airtable-based template used to aggregate program data and monitor progress toward digital equity goals.
- Data Collection Guide: A comprehensive resource providing instructions and adaptable templates for gathering data.
New: An Inside Look at the Database Template
We’ve recently added some new reference materials – a data dictionary and codebook to help orient users to the basic structure and mechanics of the Impact Evaluation Database. The database administrator, or the entity managing the tool, will find these resources particularly useful.
In the Data Dictionary, you will find:
- Definitions for key terms related to the database and its administration, particularly some that are unique to Airtable.
- A detailed description of the database structure and the way data flows between tables
- Some high-level guidance and considerations for customizing the database template for your needs
In the Codebook, you will find:
- A spreadsheet with a tab for each table in the database
- On each tab is a listing of all of the fields in that table of the database, along with information like the field names, a plain-language description of what the fields capture, the sources and formats of the data, and any automated calculations that each field is a part of.
