NRTRC Telehealth and Patient Portal training for Digital Navigators

The Northwest Regional Telehealth Resource Center has made two free, invaluable trainings for digital navigators wanting to help their community navigate digital healthcare, available to anyone. Consult this guide on how to register for them.

  • Navigating the Telehealth Neighborhood: A Guide to Telehealth Basics and Virtual Appointments for Digital Navigators: The course is divided into 3 main sections. To begin, we will take you through the who, what, when, where, why and how for telehealth, as well as provide you with some basic background and information on telehealth and digital navigation. Next, you will find a multitude of resources from properly vetted partners that will assist you with navigating a participant through the telehealth process. Last, we will take you through a series of process maps with key questions and answers for the participant you are assisting with telehealth, which will help you guide them to and through receiving care through telehealth.
  • Navigating the Telehealth Neighborhood: Patient Portal Training for Digital Navigators: This course helps digital navigators support digital health participants in using patient portals to manage their health. In section one, the course covers portal basics, navigator responsibilities, benefits, key functions, and best practices. Section two provides a patient portal toolbox to help navigators learn about common barriers, solutions, and portal policies as they assist participants in managing their health through patient portals.

NRTRC covers Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Visit the National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers website for more broad and localized telehealth resources.
