In 2021, NDIA worked with Salt Lake City Public Library to create our first Digital Navigator Toolkit. Since then, we’ve run the National Digital Navigator Corps program in 18 rural and tribal communities, convened the Digital Navigator Working Group (a community of 500+ digital navigators and digital navigator program managers), developed program standards, and learned much from and with our community. We’re proud to pour all of that experience into our new 2025 Digital Navigator Program Toolkit.
Inside the new toolkit, we take you from conception to execution to sustaining a digital navigator program, with concrete tools and advice from practitioners across the country. There are worksheets to help you plan a new program, sample interview questions, training resources, and so much more. Together with the stories from the National Digital Navigator Corps featured in the NDIA blog, we hope to provide the field with the digital navigator model’s most complete picture yet, from theory to practice.

We’ll be hosting two sessions at Net Inclusion on Tuesday, May 20, to introduce you to the new toolkit: a 90-minute Introduction to the New Digital Navigator Toolkit and a three-hour workshop titled How to Launch a Digital Navigator Program. If you’re not able to join us at Net Inclusion, we’re hosting a half-hour overview webinar on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 2 PM EST/11 AM PST. Register here to attend.
To accompany the release of the toolkit, we’re also publishing a Digital Navigator Program Directory on our Digital Navigator Model page. If you would like your program to be part of the directory, please fill out this form.
We’d love to know what you think about all these resources – let us know at [email protected] – and we hope they contributes to many more digital navigator programs and new work to close the digital divide.
We’d like to acknowledge and thank Google.org for their investment and support of the NDNC pilot, the digital navigator model, and the development of the toolkit.
